ASHLEY BLASY

Art Instructor

A local parent and community member, Ashley Blasy earned her B.S. degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Fine Arts from Walla Walla University.  Ashley’s favorite part about teaching is witnessing kids’ natural curiosity and creativity shine through their individual projects.  She enjoys watercolor painting, drawing, and learning new techniques while experimenting with a variety of mediums.  Some of Ashley’s hobbies include reading, exploring in nature, and spending time with her family and friends.  Ashley loves living in the Walla Walla area and is excited to be part of Make For Joy Art Studio!

Summer Neil

Art Instructor

Summer Neil graduated from Walla Walla University in 2025 with her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and minors in Art and Sociology. She spent a year abroad studying art in Florence, Italy, where she deepened her love for watercolor and ceramics. Summer grew up helping in her mom’s 1st and 2nd grade classroom and has always enjoyed working with kids and seeing their creativity. When she’s not making art or reading, Summer is usually outside skiing, mountain biking, rock climbing, or paddle boarding, and she often brings inspiration from her adventures into her artwork.

He directed the mountain biking program for kids and teens at Camp Ida Haven in McCall for nine summers, while immensely enjoying additional recreational activities such as rock climbing, videography, ceramics, and MORE.

Matthew is Operations Manager of MFJ, as well as a healthcare professional and woodworker; you can find his small-project woodcraft in the form of handmade earrings, home items, and custom shelving through Kor Woodcraft.
